Management
Over the years, the projects with which
Tony has been involved include:
·
Multi-discipline
construction projects in mining beneficiation & related industries (such as
ferro-alloy furnaces, crushing & screening plants
and the like); maize silos & food processing plants; and engineering &
manufacturing plants;
·
Manufacturing
plant turn-around projects, where the business was either under performing in
terms of its potential, or was losing money, or both;
·
IT
software development projects.
As a result he has developed the following
Key Skills Areas:
Project
Management:
- Identify and isolate the real
issue and develop an innovative and cost effective solution, be it a
technical, contractual or a project management related matter;
- Conceptualise and develop project flow
diagrams and/or layouts as appropriate;
- Develop and implement an overall plus a
detailed project plan and scope specification;
- Develop and manage a detailed project
budget;
- Prepare tender enquiry documents, both
technical & contractual, and issue, adjudicate & negotiate the
final details as necessary;
- Logically implement a project with
attention to detail and focus on key project deadlines;
- Motivate and lead the project team to
achieve the project deadlines;
- Liase & negotiate with the Client on all
aspects of projects assigned;
- Multi-skilled: although trained as an electrical
engineer have a broad grasp and experience of other engineering and
technical disciplines;
- Manage several projects simultaneously.
Production Management:
- Design and implement SABS/ISO 9001
Quality Management Systems, incorporating OSH Act compliance if required;
- Design and implement appropriate
production planning and control systems;
- Staff relations and the implementation of
appropriate wage structures;
- Productivity improvements as a result of
the implementation of the above.
